Help for the Bereaved

Helping a child cope with a death

What you can do to help a child or young person who is grieving?

Should you take a child to a funeral? What is the right age for them to be able to take part?

It is understandable that many caregivers are reluctant to talk to a child or young person  about the death as they do not want to cause distress or fear.  Children and young people who are bereaved need to know that their loved one has died, how they died and where they are now.  If you would like some help and advice around this very difficult subject you will find a lot of very useful information by following this link:

Cruse Bereavement Care is the leading national charity for bereaved people in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.  This charity offer support, advice and information to children, young people and adults when someone dies and work to enhance society’s care of bereaved people.
