National Cholesterol Month

Over half of all UK adults have raised cholesterol. One in 250 people in the UK may be born with a high cholesterol condition called Familial Hypercholesterolaemia (FH), which means they are at high risk of a heart attack, stroke or sudden death in their 20s, 30s and 40s.

For all members of the population having unhealthy cholesterol levels and high blood pressure and smoking can put you at risk of early heart disease.

HeartUK is a charity with a vision to prevent premature deaths caused by high cholesterol and cardiovascular disease.  Its aim is for the majority of UK adults to know and understand their cholesterol levels and to be taking any necessary action.
