October-Breast Cancer Awareness Month

This year around 11,500 women will die from breast cancer.  Like me, you probably have a friend or family member who has had breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Now is the UK’s largest breast cancer charity and it is supporting nearly 450 of the world’s best researchers across the UK and Ireland, to help find a cure for this devastating disease

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a worldwide annual campaign involving thousands of organisations, to highlight the importance of breast awareness, education and research.

As a charity it relies on donations and you can make a donation at any time.  Bereaved families may decide to ask for donations to this charity in lieu of flowers at the funeral service, if their relative suffered from breast cancer.  There are also lots of fundraising ideas on the website to plan your Wear it Pink event for 2019, and these can even be used as a kind of memorial event for the death of your loved one.
