a Celebrant led ceremony

These days a lot of funerals are non-religious. More and more people are choosing cremation and no church service. And increasingly a different type of ceremony which is more individual and celebrates the life of the deceased. A Celebration of Life Ceremony. This is a unique Funeral Service in which you the family decide on all aspects. A Celebrant Officiant will give you the ceremony you want.

your ceremony your way

Sharon will work with you to craft a ceremony that reflects the character of your loved-one.  Working together with you. To create a ceremony that reflects the life, beliefs, and values of your loved one. And the wishes of you and your family.

planning the ceremony

The Ceremony is your opportunity to celebrate the unique personality of your loved one and their life.  With the right planning, the funeral reflects their individuality. You can choose the type of ceremony you want. Choose the most suitable venue for the ceremony and the wake. You decide the type of burial or cremation, the style of coffin. The mode of transport to the Service/Ceremony, and even the colours worn at the ceremony.  It really is up to you the family.  it is after all a Celebration of the Life of your loved one.

Bright colours may be appropriate

Bright coloured hats are ideal to wear for a Celebration of Life Ceremony.
will you wear bright colours?

bespoke funeral ceremony

It may even be the case that your loved-one has left some instructions or discussed with you some details about the type ceremony chosen.  This will help you to make appropriate decisions. In the knowledge that you are following their wishes. A Funeral Ceremony that really is all about them.

family tributes

How to plan the funeral service. You can include personal tributes from family and friends and share stories and memories.  Using Rituals like a Memory Tree. Where each person present shares a memory or a photo.   You will have all the time you need to read the messages and look at the old photos.

music and poetry

A special song or piece of music makes a big difference to your ceremony. You may already know what music you want as in all probability it will be a favourite piece of your loved one’s. If you do need help with song choices Sharon helps you to find the most popular song choices for a funeral. Poems and readings can help to express our emotions and these might form part of the Ceremony too.   Sharon helps with ideas or points you in the right direction to find the most popular poems for a funeral. A lot of poetry works well for funeral ceremonies.

Laughter can often be a part of it too.  Do you want to reflect the special sense of humour that your loved one possessed ? A story or poem that reflects this might be the perfect way to remember them. Give them a fitting Ceremony, celebrating their special character. A Celebration of Life Ceremony which uplifts you and your family in the knowledge that you have given your loved one the perfect ‘send off’.

you have the final say over everything

ceremony venues

The Ceremony can be held at a Crematorium or Church. These Ceremonies are restricted to around 20 to 30 minutes. If you are you for an alternative to a 30 minute crematorium service? Sharon will advise you on other venues. This could be at your local Golf Club, in your own garden, at a Natural Burial Site or another venue personal to you. Wherever the ceremony is held, Sharon will help you to plan a fitting ceremony. One that celebrates the life and character of your loved one.
